  1. Call to Order
    1. Meeting was called to order at 7:01p.m.
  2. Pledge of Allegiance
  3. Welcome and Introductions
  4. Approval of Minutes
    1. Minutes were approved for both October and November 2009. Kerrie Shurtleff made a motion to accept the minutes and Vicki Fraley seconded the motion. Motion carried.
  5. Treasurer’s Report
    1. Michelle Bossong reported that there is a total of $14,497.62 in the PTO account at this time. After all allocated payouts there will be a total of $8,539.22 remaining.
    2. Teresa Curley made a motion to accept the report and Kerrie Shurtleff seconded the motion. Motion carried.
  6. Committee Reports
    1. Legislative/Administrative- Mrs. Curley reported that the building project is underway and that some revisions have been made to the plans. The district plans to break ground in June.
    2. Book Fair- The next book fair will take place in March at the Trevor building.
    3. Market Day- Market Day brought in a total of $241.90 in December with 34 customers. The total profit for the school year so far is $827.78.
    4. Me and My Guy- Michelle West reported that the DJ is booked, the frames are ordered, and that the dance will take place on February 6, 2010 from 6:30p.m. to 9:00p.m.
    5. Corporate Sponsors- A chairperson is needed for this area. We are no longer saving pop tops or Campbell’s Soup Labels. Michelle Bossong agreed to reach out to volunteers.
    6. Auction- Donations are slow to come in and there is a lot of work left to be done before the event. A special meeting will be held to address details.
  7. Old Business
    1. Bylaw Committee Update- The committee has worked only minimally, the update is in progress.
    2. Updates on New Fundraisers
      1. Parent’s Day Out- We had the first event in December. The event went well and parents were appreciative.
      2. Scrapbook Event- The first event will take place March 27th at the Trevor building from 9a.m. to 9p.m. The event will include two meals and will run between $25.00 and $30.00 per person. A press release was suggested and Krista Nader reported that we are looking to have 50-100 people at the event.
      3. Middle School Dances- Finding dates when the school is available for these events has proven to be quite a challenge. There are no events planned at this time.
  8. New Business
    1. Teacher Appreciation Committee Chair- Volunteers to chair this committee were requested and Teresa Curley agreed to the position. Teacher appreciation week is May 2nd-8th. There is a $500.00 budget for this committee.
  9. Open Forum
    1. Teresa Curley made everyone aware of Disney’s Give a Day Get a Day Program. You can check it out online.
    2. Karen Gerold read a thank you note from Rhonda Koski for the Christmas gift.
    3. Melinda Madison thanked the PTO for providing dinner at conferences.
    4. Vicki Fraley reported complaints that there is a lack of communication from the PTO. She stated that parents miss the monthly newsletter. Jenny Loveless reported that the new short minutes are the same thing in a different format. Karen Gerold discussed that in order to save paper the middle school students have their monthly short minutes on the back of their homeroom newsletter and perhaps parents are missing it. Ultimately, Karen Gerold decided to renew the newsletter format in the future.
