Graduation: Several volunteers including Kathy Baum and Vicky Fraley distributed pizza to the graduating class of 2009 on June 11th. 16 pizzas were purchased for a total of $180.00. As always, the students greatly appreciated the treat.

OLD BUSINESS:

  1. Scholarships- Karen Gerold attended the ceremony and awarded Sarah Wagner and Madison Hamilton the annual $500.00 scholarships awarded to 2 Trevor-Wilmot alumni by the PTO. These scholarships were based on essays regarding their aspirations for the future.
  2. Purchases- The tables for the library and the table drapes for each school were purchased and greatly appreciated by the district.
  3. Awards Banquet- KFC was ordered and served.

NEW BUSINESS:

  1. Fall Fundraiser- The fundraiser was moved to the second week of school in order to allow the community more time to settle into the school year before the event. It was decided that Little Ceasar’s Pizza Kits and Big Red Apple Fundraising would be used again this year due to the positive feedback last year.
  2. Budget Meeting- The annual Budget Meeting will be held July 1st, 2009 at noon at Trevor Grade School.
  3. Open Forum-
    1. Karen Gerold had several ideas she wanted to run past the PTO as possible things to do for next year. The ideas were as follows:
      1. Open House: have a PTO greeter by the door to get in touch with the community and encourage parents to come to the meetings.
      2. Free Events:
        1. Movie Night free to the community. This idea was denied due to issues involving licensing in the past.
        2. Reading Night free to the community. A storyteller could be attained and this event could be correlated with the Book Fair.
        3. Welcome Back Bash free to the community. This would be a carnival of sorts. The Bouncy House from Wilmot could be utilized as well as the Snow Cone Machine. There could be games and other fun for the family. Vicki Fraley suggested making it a picnic and bringing in the Fire Dept. and Officer Friendly along with the Boy Scouts to serve food.
    2. Discussion about the style of the PTO minutes was held.
    3. There was discussion around the auction location and procedures. Carrie Knipp is looking for alternative venues.

ANNOUNCEMENTS: Budget meeting will be held July 1st at noon at Trevor Grade School.

Next PTO meeting: September 14, 2009.

ADJOURNMENT: Meeting was adjourned at 8:20 p.m.
