- Call to Order - The meeting was called to order by Karen Gerold at 7:15p.m. The meeting began late due to an unexpected fundraising pitch by Papa Saverio’s Pizzaria.
- Pledge of Allegiance
- Welcome and Introduction
- Approval of Minutes - Teresa Curley made a motion to approve the minutes and Kerrie Shurtleff seconded the motion. Motion carried.
- Treasurer’s Report - Alyson Ekornaas made a motion to approve the report and Teresa Curley seconded the motion. Motion carried.
- Committee Reports
- Legislative/Administrative: The administration has toured three schools constructed by the same architects that we are using. Some good ideas were gained. The administration is now accepting bids from contractors.
- Book Fair: Kathy Fowler reported that the book fair will take place at Trevor Grade School March 23-25th. They will stay open until 8p.m. on Thursday. Kathy is seeking volunteers.
- Market Day: Market Day made $205.72 in February. Total profit for this school year is $1156.42.
- Me and My Guy: The event was attended by 240 couples and went very well.
- Corporate Sponsors: Darlene Lasch reported that she has separated the wealth of labels into ziplock bags that can be sent home with parents who volunteer to clip and count them. Several bags have been sent home already
- Auction Update: 138 tickets are sold and 330 items are ready for bidding! Tickets will be available at the door for $25.00.
- Middle School Dance: The new date for the dance is April 23rd from 6:30-9p.m. Admission will cost $5.00. Vicki Fraley will be organizing the event and will be the DJ for the evening.
- Scrapbook Day: The new date is April 17th. More information will follow after the auction.
- Old Business
- Bylaw Committee Update: Nothing to report.
- Fundraisers: Kelly Backe has agreed to be the fundraiser committee chair person. Mister Z’s will be our fall fundraiser and the following other fundraisers will also take place; Red Robin Family Night, Rainforest Café Family Weekend, and Chili’s Family Night. Yankee Candle, Jamba Juice, and Papa Saverio’s Pizzaria are being considered as additional possibilities.
- Coupon Event: The event was attended by 125 people and 189 pounds of food were donated to the sharing center!
- New Business - Scheduling events at the school: When you are planning to schedule an event at the school, you need to talk to Kathy Pieger and fill out a form. You should receive a signed form as verification of your reservation.
- Open Forum
- Michelle Bossong reported that community members had inquired about the PTO sponsoring a babysitting class. It was decided that Michelle would look into it.
- Jenny Loveless suggested that the PTO purchase a sign or flag that would be hung outside the schools on the day of or before a PTO meeting that would serve as a reminder of the meeting. It was agreed that this would be a good idea.
